White Roses: Bio

The White Roses is the musical project of Heather Rose, a blues-rock-psychedelic-funk band coming out of Boston MA. She has played many shows in the Boston/Cambridge area and has also been sighted in San Francisco CA, Portland OR and NY NY. Heather writes her own songs, sings and plays guitar. She also co-produces and co-engineers all of White Roses' recordings. In 2010 she graduated with a degree in Professional Music from the Berklee College of Music, focusing on Songwriting, Performance, Business and Engineering. Heather's songwriting has been well acclaimed and has won several awards. In 2009 she won honorable mention for her song "Spark the Chain" in the Berklee Songs for the Social Change Contest. Also in 2009 her song "Big City Blues" won first place for blues in the West Coast Songwriter's Competition. White Roses has also been well received by many review websites such as Garageband.com, TuneoftheDay.com, and Eartaster.com, to name a few. In May 2009 White Roses was featured in Computer Music Magazine and also appeared as the first track on their free cd that comes with each issue. White Roses is currently signed under the indie label Retro Rocket Records located in Half Moon Bay, CA. She is looking to sign with a major label and to go on tour in the near future.
